Our story
Our story started when Tiago Gawlinski, born and raised in Brasil, arrived in the Netherlands in 1990. In the years after his arrival, he started to miss the Brazilian way of life. After many years working in various hospitality businesses, the idea arose to create a place with a warm and casual Brazilian vibe, where typical drinks and bites can be enjoyed.
With this idea in mind, Tiago opened the doors of Casa Brazuca at the Rijnstraat in Amsterdam in 2008.
A few years later, Tiago started roasting his first batches of coffee on a Giesen W1 at Casa Brazuca, combining his job as a barista with coffee roasting. With the roasting process taking place in front of the customers, a new kind of interaction had sprung to life and Brazuca Coffee was born. To this day, Tiago still carefully selects Brazilian specialty coffees and roasts them with craftsmanship in Amsterdam.
