Born out of passion
Bart was born in Callantsoog.
At the age of 14 he started as a dishwashing assistant on the beach in the catering industry.
When he was 16 he started cooking training, after which he chose to leave the kitchen.
He then left the hospitality industry for a number of years, but it started to itch again and he decided to apply for a job at a hotel. It was his first experience in the hotel world and after two trial days he was offered a full-time contract.
Bart couldn’t get away with it anymore, he liked it that much.
A golden move, by the way, because after some time he was offered a new position within the hotel as assistant supervisor
of the F&B.
Here he was able to further develop himself for a number of years and with the result that after 2.5 years he could start a new challenge as an all-rounder in the famous IJkgebouw in Alkmaar.
In the years that Bart worked at ’t IJkgebouw, he was able to further develop himself professionally and personally.
People work with passion in the IJkgebouw. Bart discovered his passion for coffee.
He found out that the coffee world has many possibilities and that there was also very passionate talk about making the perfect espresso or roasting the best coffee blend/single origin.
The offer was large but mostly the same, he thought.
Bart has now developed Bartsbeans with two blends
and two single-origin coffees.
Bartsbeans stands for the highest possible product at a good price, but responsibly.
For example, the coffee bags are made from recycled paper and
a fair price is paid to the coffee farmer.
Bartsbeans coffee is always fresh. That is why there is always a burn date on the packaging.
